At the last cub meeting before Christmas all our Mums
and Dads were invited along for an evening of games and presentations.
Everyone had a great time, and we particularly
enjoyed the Pirates game where Raksha shouted out instructions like
'Port', 'Starboard' and we all had to run to the right side of the room
or do the action that went with the shout. When Raksha shouted 'Weevils'
we all had to get down on our backs and wriggle our legs and arms in the
air! Some of the parents were hilarious!
Akela had also cut up loads of Christmas cards, and
all the parts were spread out on the floor. We were then all split out
into teams and had to take turns to try and match up the bits of the
cards.
Then everyone sat down for a well earned rest and
some food and drinks.
Then Akela began the presentations with a rumour that
we were expecting a special visitor!
Three of the Dads (Bob and 2 Daves) were given
special thank yous for helping with the DIY badge.
Akela gave a special presentation to her three
Sixers, and Samuel won an award for the best attendance during 2007 (he
didn't miss a single meet!).
The winning Six was announced as Yellow Six, and
Lewis and his Six all received special centenary neckerchiefs.
Finally our surprise guest turned up and it was the
Deputy District Commissioner! She had come to present Chief Scout Silver
Arrow Awards to me and Samuel. Wow! |
