Moving Over Ceremony

One week at Scouts our old Akela came along to see us and the evening finished off with our 'moving over' ceremony, where Akela officially introduced us to the scouts and then handed us over to our new patrol leaders.

A large white rope was laid across the centre of the room and all the scouts lined up on one side of the rope, with Akela and us on the other side.

Akela introduced Luke first and told the scouts that he had been a senior sixer in the Cheyenne Cub Pack, and that he had earned lots of badges including the Chief Scout award. He was then presented over the rope, collected by his patrol leader and marched into line with the rest of the scouts. Then it was my turn. A big thank you to Akela for coming to the meeting for our moving over ceremony!
